Here I found all the information I had just edited and a copy of some of these track unedited. After adding 'title, artist, album, album artist' info I went to the 'Album' node to check the album out.

I then went to the 'My Computer' Node to check for these files and update some information (As I ripped offline I had to add some tags as none were filled in). Lowlander wrote:I ripped a CD to a monitored location.

If not than bad tags would probably be the cause of all these frustrations with the 'Unsynchronized' node (I have about half of my never edited files show up here, not ripped myself). I will try some more things these next days to see where problems arise, like moving tracks that were ripped in MM and see if 'Retreive Moved Tracks' and 'File Monitor' have any problem with this. MM should have a seperate function for detecting and cleaning these corrupt tags. I think many users have problems with the 'Unsychronized' node because of this. The other problem of bad tags needs attention too. So my guess would be that having the Time Stamp changed would preferably (slow MM isn't a good idea) and maybe the 'Retreive Moved Tracks' would need to be taken out of MM (maybe 'Dead Links' too). Or have MM change the Time Stamp, which creates problems with 'Retrieve Moved Tracks' as Time Stamp needs to be same for not found files if I understand right. Deselect 'Only for changed Time Stamp' which would slow down the 'File Monitor' and 'Add Tracks to Library' features if I understand right. This creates problems for MM to see changes in files. I think a problem in MM where other users have trouble with too is that MM doesn't change the Time Stamp on edit and that most users have the option 'Only for changed Time Stamp' checked. In 'File Monitor' 'Update filepaths without confirmation' and 'Delete unused artists, albums' have been selected. I have the option 'Only for changed Time Stamp' enabled and this might be a culprit in this story.

(I first edited the album, later the artist and title). When I check under 'location/network/folder' node all the tracks from the CD show up, with only some reflecting the correct album.

(Network location is actually on local PC as well) The problem is that not all the tracks for that CD showed up in the 'Album' node as well that the tracks that did still had the unedited information. I had ripped the files to a location on the PC and as such the double entry is not surprising. The location of the unedited tracks differs as this is a watched location in 'File Monitor' and this location is through the network. It is highly possible that MM has trouble with the tags of these files. This always resulted in several (20-40%) of the files not found. I also found some of the files in the 'Dead Links' section with the old location.īefore I started using the 'File Monitor' I would go to 'Dead Links' and use 'Retreive Moved Tracks' to find the files again.

On refresh I saw some files duplicate with an entry for the old and new location. I saw some of these files location being update while others weren't.

I get the idea that the file monitor does have troubles in identifying movement and addition of new files.ĭuring program run I moved a couple of files, while running MM, with Windows Explorer.
